Among of the very cornerstones of our Order has been “Solidarity with our Bishops and Priests” and our support of Vocations.   DeSoto Council is proud and privileged to have the Holy Apostles College and Seminary within its community.   In its preparation of men for the priesthood, Holy Apostles Seminary is committed to providing solid formation in all aspects of seminary life, in accord with the directives of the Catholic Church. The Seminary receives its students from all parts of the United States, as well as from other countries. The student body reflects many dioceses and a wide variety of religious communities.

Very Reverend Eusebe M. Menard, O.F.M., founder of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles, established Holy Apostles Seminary especially to prepare men of an age beyond thirty for the priesthood. At the present time both students of the ordinary age for entering the seminary (after completion of undergraduate studies) and students who wish to undertake priestly studies at a later age are welcomed. However, the seminary does have a continuing concern for meeting the special needs of candidates who enter the seminary after the age of thirty.

In June of 2002, DeSoto Council #6 established a scholarship endowment at Holy Apostles Seminary in the name of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney.   Once fully funded, this endowment will establish a perpetual scholarship which will fund the studies of one Seminarian per year.  The selection committee will include members of DeSoto Council #6 and will give preference to Seminarians who are either from or will serve within Connecticut.

We hope that you will prayerfully consider lending financial support to this important initiative.
